I approach markets as systems shaped by human perception. My work is an attempt to understand this dynamic and act within it.

Twelve years ago, that effort began with company valuations, business planning, and financial models. It grew into analyzing alternative strategies- private equity, debt, real estate, infrastructure and others- for institutional investors. Over time I stepped into programming and data, expanding the ways I could approach markets. The CAIA and FDP designations mark significant points along this path, within a pursuit that continues to evolve.

In 2021, I decided to leave my job to experiment more directly, beginning with a neural network built from scratch to model equities. Since then I’ve continued to test how data and software can extend investment insight. Part of this work became Pickel Fintech, and part developed into Souppe, where we help users control their portfolios’ systematic risk exposure.

Pickel.io is the record of this journey. Writing here is a way to sharpen my own thinking, expose what I don’t yet know, and sometimes share something useful with others.

Some Projects:

  • A tool for helping home buyers and renters find their home in Israel, in a smart way (Hebrew)- see here.
  • Publicly-traded equities’ data mining, analysis and transformation tools for machine learning models.
  • A Python module for sourcing, aggregating and testing elite proxy server addresses from various sources.

Non-Profit Activity:

No Junk Please– an old project I developed in the 2010s for providing people with a tool to avoid receiving physical advertisements, also known as junk mail. The project promotes values of green thinking and mutual respect in the city, as it tries to balance between people’s right for a healthier environment and the small businesses’ need to advertise.
